History Of Perfume
Perfume is derived from perfumare in Latin, which literally means “to smoke through”. The art of perfumery was first documented in Egypt, the Indus Valley Civilization, Mesopotamia, and probably ancient China. This art was further refined by Muslims and Romans.
The first chemist documented is considered to be a woman called Tapputi. She is considered being perfume maker who was mentioned in cuneiform tablets from the 2nd millennium BC in Mesopotamia.
She extracted perfumes by distilling oil, flowers, or calamus with other aromatics. He further filtered them and put them still for a long time. From 3300 BC to 1300 BC, perfume was documented in the Indus civilization on the Indian subcontinent.

As per records, the oldest perfume serving is recorded in Pygros, Cyprus. In 2003, the archaeology department discovered a perfume factory that was approximately 300 m2 and had almost 60 stills having funnels, mixing bowls, and bottles that had spices, herbs, conifer, bergamot, flowers, coriander, almond, and myrtle.
For the anniversary of the Greek National Archaeological Museum, the ancient perfume “Rodo” was recreated to display in “Countless Aspects of Beauty”.
Arab chemical Al Kindi documented the art in his book, the “Book of Chemistry of Perfume and Distillations”. This book displays various combinations of fragrant oils, aromatic water, and salves. The book also indicated the substitute or imitation of the costly drugs.

The Persian chemist Ibn Sina discovered oils from flowers by distillation, which is commonly used today. He did a lot of experiments with Rose and discovered delicate Rose Water, which became a lot more popular. By of 18th century, many cities in France started farming for aromatic farms in the regions of Grasse, Calabria, and Sicily.

Fragrance Notes of Perfume
Perfume is described as a musical metaphor with a set of three notes. This is known as harmonious scent accord. Over a period of time, the notes reveal themselves with top notes as immediate impressions, middle notes as deeper impressions, and base notes as the final impressions.

1. Top Notes of Perfume
