a) Tale of Goddess Laxmi and King Bali
Once Lord Vishnu was fascinated by King Bali’s dedication towards him and determined to safeguard his kingdom. Hench lord Vishnu left Vaikuntha and didn’t come back for quite a prolonged time.
This bothered Goddess Laxmi and she visited King Bali’s palace masked as an old woman. She tied a thread around King Bali’s wrist and in return asked for Lord Vishnu’s return. King Bali granted her wish and Lord Vishnu returned to Vaikuntha.

b) Tale of Draupadi and Krishna
This is one of the most well-known tales associated with Rakhi. Once Lord Krishna had cut his finger accidentally and his wife asked for helpers to come and take care of him.
In this circumstance, Draupadi ripped a tiny piece of her saree and tied it around Lord Krishna’s finger to prevent bleeding. This act of hers made Lord Krishna so delighted that he swore to guard her forever.
One day when her purity was at hazard, she screamed for help from Lord Krishna. He protected her from sin and conserved her dignity in Dhritarashtra court.

c) Tale of Roxana and Puru
In 326 BC Alexander tried to conquer King Puru’s kingdom but unfortunately was caught by Puru. Alexander’s wife Roxana sent a holy thread to Puru to save her husband’s life.
Puru ensured Roxana that he wouldn’t hurt Alexander and later on became a follower of him. Alexander was also very fascinated by Puru’s devotion and gave him his throne back.

Happy Raksha Bandhan Pooja rituals
Raksha Bandhan is celebrated in India with proper customs and according to the ‘Mahurat’ given by the priest. On this day, people get up and take shower early in the morning.
Normally, everyone wears traditional ethnic attire on this day and sisters decorate their Puja thali for their brothers which contains Roli, Kumkum, Diya, Rakhi, Sweets, Nariyal, Kalash with water, Cloth and Mauli Dhaga.
