If you are a manager with a team reporting to you then you should know that your success comes only when your team is successful. The team Empower Your Team would give that extra bit and be successful only if you empower them to do so.
It should be clear that the more they will grow the more you will grow. Somewhere while reading an article, I read about a Hotel Manager. In a hotel, some food was spilled near a table. All the waiters were going by its side but no one delegated or cleaned the food.
The manager observed this for almost ten fifteen minutes and after that, he took a mop and cleaned the food. Now cleaning the floor would surely be not part of the Manager’s job. Sometimes people behave in life working in silos.

1. Empower Your Team by New Idea
Now one of the effective ways of empowering your employees is allowing them to express their ideas and thoughts for the organisational development. Whenever someone comes up with an idea, listen to him respectfully.
Maybe his idea would be brilliant and implementing it would surely bring a lot of success or it may also happen that the idea would be completely silly. You should not just say that the idea is stupid or it would never work or this has never happened. Also, you should not just listen and never act upon it.
All this would not give any sense of belongingness to the employee and would never give empowerment. You should listen to the ideas and implement them if worth it. This gives them a sense of respect and value. You should be open to receiving ideas from your whole team irrespective of their experience.

It is said that whatever is rewarded is repeated. Team members who are rewarded for their effort and out of box work surely feel empowered and motivated to make efforts again.
Leaders should encourage extra efforts and risk-taking ability in future to have higher performance. This in turn would develop an attitude of empowerment in the employee.

5. Empower Your Team by Work Environment
Leaders need to create a healthy and positive work environment among the employees. In times of crisis, if finger-pointing is all around then this would not bring a sense of empowerment amongst the employees.
If the employee is not making mistakes means the employee is not going high enough beyond his or her comfort zone. The team leader should create a positive and healthy work environment where each employee feels valued and respected. This brings in a lot of sense of empowerment amongst the employees.

6. Empower Your Team by Decision-Making Authority
Leaders should develop skilled and knowledgeable employees in their teams. Then he should give some authority to the employees so that he or she can make correct and good decisions.
The more the employees are given authority for decision making the more they feel empowered. The leader should macro-manage and not micro-manage their employees to create a sense of empowerment within the team members.
Define the boundaries within which employees can make decisions and give them the freedom to act. The conventional wisdom that boundaries restrict team members won’t work with Gen Z employees.
It is said that Empower Your Team not only impacts the engagement of the team but also impacts the productivity of the team. With these small efforts the team leader can create a sense of empowerment and in turn, bring out the best in the employees.
The sense of empowerment lets him or her walk the extra mile to achieve the required targets. As a leader, the other major benefit of having a highly empowered team is that you get to work with a group of satisfied people who are willing to work hard. It’s best of all outcomes and all the leaders would love to work with self-motivated and happy employees.
