Many Afghans who worked for US troops are flocking around the plane to be taken out of the country as The Taliban would indeed comb them for helping the Westerns. The airport is witnessing complete chaos with a stampede, dropping off from the plane to making a rush for the seats in the aircraft.

During 1980, almost a million Afghans were trained by Pakistan’s ISI. As per British Professor Carole Hillenbrand, The Taliban was born out of the US – Saudi – Pakistan supported mujahedin. Almost all the early leadership of the Taliban fought in the Soviet-Afghan War.

1. Mohammed Omar (1994 – 2013)
The Taliban was founded in 1996 under the leadership of Mohammed Omar. Mohammed Omar was born sometime between 1950 – 1962. He was born in Kandahar Province in the Kingdom of Afghanistan.
The place of his birth is not clear. He was born in Afghanistan to a poor landless family in the Hotak Tribe. It is a larger Ghilzai branch. Omar lost his father at the age of three, and his uncles raised him.
His uncle was a religious teacher who married his mother after his father’s death. Omar was shy and non – talkative. He had at least three wives and had five of six children. His eldest son, Mohammad Yaqoobi, was a high-ranking Taliban fighter.

2. Abdul Ghani Baradar (1968 – 2001)
Abdul Ghani Baradar was born in 1968 in Deh Rahwod District in Uruzgan Province of Afghanistan. Baradar was born in Durrani Pashtun of the Popalzai tribe. He was the Co-Founder of The Taliban.
He operated a Madrasa in Maiwand, Kandahar Province, along with Commander Mohammed Omar in the latter days. It is said that Omar and Baradar were co – co-brothers via marriage with two sisters.

3. Akhtar Mansour (2015 – 2016)
In 1968, Mansoor was born in a village, Kariz, or maybe another village Band-i-Taimoor. These villages are in Maiwand District in Kandahar Province.
Some say that Mansoor belonged to the Alizai tribe, while others say he belonged to the Ishaqzai tribe. Both the tribes are the Durrani Line of Pashtun.

4. Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada (2016 – Present)
In 1959, Akhundzada born in Panjwayi District of Kandahar Province. He belongs to the Noorzi Tribe, which is part of Pashtun.
His father was a religious teacher and imam of a village. His family shifted to Quetta, where he continued his education in the Sarnan neighbourhood.

It is said that Rasul was born somewhere in the 1960s. He was born in Kandahar Province in Afghanistan. He is a leader of the High Council of Afghanistan’s Islamic Emirate, a Taliban splinter group in Afghanistan.

Rules Made By the Taliban
In the dream to make a new Afghanistan, they had chalked out rules. These rules or ideologies were described as an innovative form of Sharia Laws combined with Pashtun Tribal codes.
The Pashtun Tribal Codes were also known as Pashtun wali. The ideologies were Deobandi interpretations of Islam and were favoured by JUI and its splintered group. The rules of ideologies were as below.

- Under the first period of Taliban rule, women were not allowed to leave home without a male chaperone.
- Women were required to be clad head to toe in a burqa.
- Women were not allowed to work, and girls were not allowed to pursue education.
- Non-Islamic music and television were banned.
- Religious courts imposed corporal punishments such as chopping off hands, theft, public floggings, and stoning to death for adultery.
- Taliban followed the sharing of inheritance equally among the sons even though the Qur’an states that daughters should receive one-half a man’s share.
- All statues around Afghanistan must be destroyed, under which they destroyed Bamyan Buddha in 2001.
- The Taliban police patrolled the street with pickup trucks to punish anyone who did not follow The Taliban rules.
With The Taliban in rule, the Afghans face a radically different government with a different lifestyle known to them for the past two decades. The Taliban has control over every border crossing with Iran in the West, and Pakistan in the East and South.
