Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born on 22nd July 2013 at Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, London. He was born at 16:42 BST. A press conference announced his birth.
This was a very unusual way of announcing the birth in the Royal family. Generally, the delivery is broadcast on an easel which is placed outside Buckingham Palace.

The young prince was christened on 24th July 2013. His name was announced as George Alexander Louis. He was christened by Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury in Chapel Royal At St James Palace. The ceremony took place on 23rd July 2013.
