Oscar 2022 had its share of drama more than expected. Every US paper is making headlines about the slapping event. Chris Rock who was anchoring the event, gave some remarks about Jada Pinkett Smith, wife of Will Smith.
Rock made fun of her shaved head as she has alopecia which causes hair loss. Will Smith was angered by the statement and walked up to the stage to slap Chris Rock. The academy asked Will Smith to leave but he didn’t.
In the very same Oscar function, Will Smith won the first Oscar of his career in 2022. He got the award for his portrayal of Richard Williams in the movie King Richard which is a biographical sports drama.
While taking the award he apologised to the academy but didn’t apologise to Rock. All the newspapers are trying to analyse what had happened.

Will Smith was born to Caroline and Willard Carroll Smith Sr. He was born on 25th September 1968 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
His mother had graduated from Carnegie Mellon University and was a Philadelphia school board administrator. His father was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He spent his childhood in West Philadelphia Wynnefield. He was raised as a Baptist. Will has an elder sister Pamela. He had two younger siblings Harry and Ellen who are twins.

At the age of 12, Will started rapping. His lyrics were full of profanity which he later dropped on advice by his grandmother.

Will Smith started his career as MC for hip–hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. DJ Jazzy Jeff met Smith by chance and soon formed a trio along with Clarence Holmes.
Word Records, a Philadelphia-based company, released the first of the trio. Smith and his partner Mark Forrest got in trouble because of their single “Girls Aren’t Nothing but Trouble.
